Hi everyone, my name is April and welcome to "Thrifted Transformations!" In this episode, I'm turning an old pair of baggy jeans into some trendy cropped working jeans. So, I hope you guys enjoy this video and let's get started. These are the pair of jeans I found at the thrift store for $5. When you go thrifting, look for jeans that are loose-fitting around the legs but fit you at the waist. The first thing I'm going to do is taper the legs. To do this, I'll wear the pants inside out and pinch the side seams to see how much I want to take in. I'll use some pins to hold the jeans in place, so I can get a feel for how it's going to fit with the pins still in place. Safely, take off the pants and mark the new side seam. Then, fold the pants in half and copy the same marking onto the other leg. Now, you just need to sew right on top of that line with a matching colored thread. In this video, I'm using the Janome Magnolia sewing machine, and so far, I have a really good first impression about it. Stay tuned for my full review and comparison for all the details. Once you're done sewing, try them on and place a marking where you want them to be cropped. Cut straight across the bottom at the marked line. Next, while wearing the pants, place markings where you want the distress to appear. To do this, you can look up pictures of boyfriend jeans online and use the one you like best as your guide.
