Hello, everyone! Today's tutorial is going to be on how to make a bishop sleeve pattern. On the screen, you will see a few things that you'll need for this tutorial. Firstly, I have some pattern paper here which I folded in half. I also have a pattern piece for a sleeve. You can either use a template or trace the sleeve from a previously made garment using a pencil or a tracing wheel. Make sure the sleeve doesn't have any darts in it, just a regular sleeve pattern. Once I have traced it, I'll cut it out. Our next step is to make a horizontal line across the bicep of the sleeve pattern. Then, we'll split that line into four evenly spaced vertical lines. Once the lines are in place, we'll cut up vertically on each line all the way to the top, so we can spread it. Now, take your pattern paper and clear tape. Hold the paper down and spread it about two inches each. Next, draw a curved line about 3/4 of an inch away from the center, which is the third panel. This curved line should go from side to side, incorporating the lower area. Once you're done, cut out the pattern. Where we made the previous line, extend it to be about two and a half inches. This will serve as the vent or slit for the cuff. If you don't want to do a cuff, you can add elastic for a simpler sleeve. I'll show you how to do the cuff. Measure your wrist and use that measurement to determine the length and width of the cuff. For the width, I did about three and a half inches.
