In today's lesson, I'm going to be showing you how to turn a mundane task like taking attendance into a lesson on advanced Forms and Spreadsheets. First, let me walk you through the workflow. I've created a simple form with page breaks to separate each response. By clicking continue, I can access the class list for each of my four classes. For example, let's say I'm teaching an English 6Q class. After clicking continue, I am taken to the last page of the form where I can input the attendance for that class period. I've chosen to use check es for simplicity, even though it goes against the usual practice of using separate cells for sorting purposes. Once I've submitted the attendance for the day or class period, it is recorded in a spreadsheet. This spreadsheet serves as a central location where all the attendance data is stored. However, there is an issue with a script that is supposed to generate a URL for editing a response. I am still working on resolving this issue. To demonstrate the script, let's go to the script editor and take a look at the code. I modified the code to fit my needs by specifying the form response sheet and the column where I want the URL link to appear. Once authorized, the script runs on a form submit trigger. Now, as we watch this happen, you can see the URL link appears for editing the response. However, there are some inconsistencies in the script's execution that I am still trying to resolve.
