So for this sewing project, your first thing you're going to need is a pattern. I'll explain that in the next part of the video. Right now, let's go over the materials. You're going to need some coordinating cotton fabrics, preferably 100% cotton. You can use fleece or flannel, but I think it would get really uncomfortable. My suggestion is to use cotton. I'm going with a simple black fabric for the back because it's not going to be reversible. So, I'll have a solid color on the back and one of these printed colors on the front. You'll also need some kind of elastic cording. I don't suggest using a thin cord like this one. You can get it a little thicker, but not too thick. If you're like me and have tiny ears, it might not fit well or be comfortable. This is the most comfortable option for me. You'll also need a sewing machine, paper scissors, fabric scissors, and thread scissors. Don't forget an iron too. Okay, let's get started. The first step to making this face mask is to find a pattern. The only problem with this pattern is that it's going to be really small for my face because I have a big head. So, I have some extra paper here. I'm going to trace the pattern and make it a little bigger. I'm not a fan of patterns that tell you to cut a seam allowance, especially if you're new to sewing. You might not understand what that means. So, my suggestion is to try to stay away from patterns like that, or at least trace your seam allowance and then cut it out.
