This means we need to consider how much we agree with the statement and if there is anything we disagree with. Let's now discuss what information we need to include in our introduction. In many academic essays, there are three parts to the introduction - the hook, the background statement, and the thesis statement. However, for IELTS essays, we don't need to include a hook. Firstly, the examiner is not assessing the level of interest in the essay, so it does not matter if the introduction is interesting or boring. Secondly, considering the limited time of 40 minutes for writing the essay, it is unnecessary to spend time on a hook that the examiner doesn't require. Therefore, we can skip the hook and focus on the background statement and thesis statement. The background statement is essentially a paraphrase of the given statement.
