Hello and welcome to Learning Engineer! Today, we will be showing you how to create a document that automatically fills out for an APA style document. The end result will be a document that prompts for the student's name, the title of the paper, and the school name. Once you click "End", the document will fill in the necessary information. This includes filling out the top part of the document and also the second page. Currently, the document is not a template, but we would like to make it into one. When you go to "File" and then "New", it should show up as a template option. To begin, go to "File" and then "Options". Next, go to "Advanced" and check the option for "Show Bookmarks". This will allow you to see where the bookmarks are located. After that, go to "Customize Ribbon" and ensure that the "Developer" tab is checked. Click "OK" to save the changes. Now, access the "Developer" tab and set up the headers. Double-click where the header would go and check "Different First Page". This will allow the first page header and the second page header to be different. It's important to do this step first because if you type in information and then check the , it will delete the content. Next, type in "Running Heads" followed by a space. Tab over to align it correctly. Insert a bookmark for the header title by going to "Insert" and clicking on "Bookmark". Choose a name for the bookmark, such as "H Title", and click "Add".
