This was my first year joining in, and I've just had a great time. I'll be honest, I was typing up my blog post for the tour, but nothing was coming out right. Then yesterday, Lindsey from Inside the Hem did her big reveal. She made an amazing black dress and did a home video. I was just like, "Bob, let me get on camera!" So, I'm just going to be going through my thought process, the fabrics I used, and yeah, let's get into it. The first thing I created was this bomber jacket. I had this idea for a nice and easy fall jumpsuit to just throw on for running errands, and then carry a jacket in case it gets chilly. That was my idea behind it. The first pattern I had for the bomber didn't work out well at all. Here's why: I realized that I am spoiled when it comes to my patterns, and I'm sure you are too. I like clear illustrations, well-written instructions, and the seam allowance needs to be included. That pattern didn't offer any of those, so I decided to find another pattern. Luckily, I had Simplicity 8418 on hand. This is the pattern I used to create this bomber. The fabric I used is a nylon twill sateen fabric, and it's amazing. It has an iridescent side to it, so you can have fun with that....
