Starting the BG 50 is very simple. First, place the on/off switch to the on or run position. Press the fuel pump bulb at least 5 times, even if it already appears to have fuel in it. If the unit is cold and has not been run for a long time, place the choke lever in the closed or full choke position. If the unit has just recently been run, you would place the choke lever in the warm start position. However, since our unit has not been run recently, we will place the lever in the full choke position. Next, place your right hand on the handle and grip the throttle lever, holding it in the wide open position. Then, pull on the starter rope until you hear the engine try to start. After that, move the choke lever to the warm start position again, while still holding the throttle in the wide open position. Pull on the starter rope until the engine starts. Once the engine has started, move the hooks to the open or run position.
