The sort of discovery that these guys are involved in is hacking Podesta's email and the FBI is trying to warn. Can you tell me the story in a condensed form? In the spring of 2016, the DNC calls in CrowdStrike, a private cybersecurity firm, co-founded by a Russian-American, to analyze what happened to their servers. CrowdStrike discovers two entities associated with the Russian government, called Fancy Bear and Cozy Bear, have infiltrated the servers. One bear has been there for a year and the other for a couple of months, unbeknownst to each other. They have taken self-opposition research from the DNC servers. While in the servers, the Bears stumble upon a link to the D-Triple-C server, which belongs to the Democratic congressional committee. They find self-opposition research on regional house candidates and use it to influence specific districts during the 2016 election. Did anyone know this was happening? CrowdStrike informs the DNC, but the IT guy at the DNC seems oblivious and even hangs up on the FBI's calls. The founder of WikiLeaks, Julian Assange, had been visited by the editor-in-chief of Russia Today, a Kremlin-funded English-language channel, in 2013. Assange had connections to Edward Snowden, who WikiLeaks allegedly provided a plane ticket for to travel to Russia. It is not a coincidence that the DNC server materials ended up on WikiLeaks. Putin may be aware of this activity, but he often operates by giving signals instead of explicit orders to insulate himself. This system of signals and interpretation trickles down the bureaucratic pyramid, leading to errors. Putin denied involvement in the invasion of Crimea before publicly admitting to giving the orders a year...
