There are two table of contents, one in the Excel workbook and one below the video. In the first video, we will cover the basics of Excel and how to build accounting templates. The remaining part of the video will cover various accounting topics. The first topic is about keyboards, as it is important to know the shortcuts to be efficient in Excel. The active cell can be accessed using ctrl+backspace. To jump to the bottom of a dataset, use ctrl+down arrow. To go back to cell a1, use ctrl+home. Number formatting is crucial in accounting. It is like a facade that applies a formatting appearance to the underlying numbers. To apply number formatting, use the home ribbon tab number group or open the format cells dialog using ctrl+1. In the dialog, you can customize the way negative numbers are displayed, the number of decimal places, and the currency symbol. Click OK to apply the formatting.
